Strobe Beam is the divers’ favorite when it comes to signaling devices for diving emergencies. The following, realistic scenario explains the great popularity of Strobe Beam: Imagine that during a night dive from a boat you are carried away by a current; you have no chance to swim back. As signal flares are not allowed in passenger aircrafts, now your only hope is signaling with a strong light source - preferably with bright flashes in rapid succession which can be seen for miles around. The Strobe Beam generates such a stroboscopic light, with up to 70 flashes per minute - ashore visible up to 5 kms (3 mi.). From an SAR aircraft, a diver, floating on the surface, can even be seen from a distance of 25 kms (15.5 mi.). Powered by three standard size AA batteries, signals can last up to 24 hours - ample reserve in any diving situation.

Strobe Beam is a small and compact LED back-up light, which can be carried on a wrist strap, be fastened to the BC or be stowed even in the tiniest pouch. Incidentally: it is switched on by means of a solenoid safety switch. Strobe Beam was tested pressure-proof to a depth of up to 40 meters (130 ft.).
